Edgo Expands into Mozambique

With active operations already in Chad, Uganda and Kenya, Edgo is pleased to announce that it has further bolstered its presence in sub-Saharan Africa with the expansion of the Group’s operations into Mozambique.

Over 75 trillion cubic feet of estimated recoverable natural gas have been discovered so far offshore in the Rovuma basin, in the northern Province of Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. Recently, Eni, Anadarko and the national oil company ENH awarded a major $15B EPC contract to the CCS consortium of Saipem, Chicago Bridge & Iron and Chiyoda to build 2 LNG trains.

To support the massive gas development in the country, we have acquired land in the northern town of Palma where we will establish an Edgo Services Center (ESC). The ESC will provide logistical and operational support to companies involved in the LNG development. Edgo is also setting up an office in Pemba which is the capital of Cabo Delgado. We expect Pemba to be transformed into a major oil and gas hub that will include supply bases, LNG receiving facilities, construction, residential and commercial facilities.
