Edgo announces the launch of deployment efforts at its Edgo Services Center in Basra, Iraq

On October 26 2010, Dr. Dia Jaafar, Director General of South Oil Company (SOC), signed the long term land lease agreement with Mr. Omar Masri, Managing Director of Edgo.

The first phase of deployment comprising 125,000m2 will be used to construct the Edgo Services Center in North Rumaila approximately 40km from Basra City and 25km from Basra International Airport. Currently, the area is being prepared, and access roads are already in place.

“We are delighted to expand our activities through the establishment of our Edgo Services Center (ESC) in southern Iraq” said Dr. Maher Jadallah, Director of Edgo. “The ESC is an essential component in our strategy to better serve the oil, gas and power sectors and reinforces our long standing commitment to Iraq’s future. It is a strategic addition to the ESC oilfield services supply bases owned and operated by Edgo in the Middle East and Africa. With the recent influx of the oil majors into Iraq, we look forward to providing services to our clients and we are delighted to have the support of the SOC.”
