Edgo’s partner in Oman, GE Oil & Gas, has signed a landmark, long-term contract with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for the provision of integrated Reciprocating Rod Pump (RRP) equipment and related services. The deal forms part of a US$700 million suite of contracts, unveiled by GE at their annual conference in Florence, Italy.

Edgo’s founder, Munib R. Masri, has launched a research and development endowment fund at the University of Jordan. The Al-Quds Endowment for Scientific Research and Quality of Education will support scientific research, enhance education, and expand opportunities for students from Jordan and Palestine.

This year, Edgo and vMonitor, a Rockwell Automation company, celebrate 10 years of successful cooperation in Oman. To mark the occasion, Edgo’s founder, Munib R. Masri, visited Muscat accompanied by Atef Kreidli, an Edgo veteran who began his career in 1972 with Edgo’s drilling operations in Oman.

Munib R. Masri, Edgo’s founder, has been honored by the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin, his alma mater, in recognition of his contribution to the field of geosciences.
At a ceremony attended by alumni and staff, Munib R. Masri was inducted into the Hall of Distinction at the Jackson School of Geosciences at UT, following a vote by a committee of highly respected scholars.
Only 34 people in the 126 year history of the school have received this honor. Mr. Masri joins a prestigious group of individuals who have made a notable and lasting impact in the field of geosciences. He was born in Nablus, Palestine, where he resides today, and is the only Arab ever to have received this award.
Munib R. Masri’s ties to UT go back to the 1950s. As an undergraduate, he met his wife, Angela, and graduated in 1955 with a BSc in petroleum geology.
The Jackson School of Geosciences at UT at Austun is among the most established and highly regarded geoscience programs in the world. It includes the university’s Department of Geological Sciences, one of the country’s oldest geoscience departments, and two world-renowned research units: the Institute for Geophysics and the Bureau of Economic Geology.
The school is home to one of the world’s largest academic geoscience communities, with nearly 4,800 alumni, 90 research scientists, and 58 faculty members, as well as one of the largest combined graduate and undergraduate enrollments of any major geoscience program.
