Edgo Chairman, Munib R Masri, has donated one million Jordanian dinars to the “Himmat Watan”, a homeland fund that was just set up by the government to fight the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in Jordan.
The fund will focus on alleviating the repercussions of the spread of the virus and mitigating the economic impact of the pandemic. Among those expected to be supported by the fund include small and medium businesses, which make up 97% of the private sector in the Kingdom, and to provide basic needs for families with low or no income. The “Himmat Watan” fund will channel donations from individuals and public and private institutions to help combat the effects of the coronavirus in the country.
The donation follows a series of other regional initiatives launched by Mr Masri, including the $1 million pledged by Mr Masri earlier in the week to support Palestine during the crisis.
