Forty team members and their families came together for Edgo’s annual tree planting initiative, supporting community engagement and Edgo’s Net-Zero Emissions (NZE) 2045 commitment.
The initiative was delivered in partnership with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) as part of APN’s Green Caravan program, launched in 2003 to reduce desertification, highlight the importance of agriculture, and support small-scale farmers. It was also held in collaboration with the Asayel Badr Charity Association, a charitable association that seeks to empower women, support their development, and combat poverty and unemployment.
The team was welcomed at the association with a traditional homemade Jordanian breakfast prepared from organic, locally grown produce. They then planted 100 fruit-bearing trees, including olive, lemon, grape, and almond varieties, on land belonging to the association.
This initiative supports Edgo’s NZE 2045 commitment by using trees as a natural way to absorb carbon dioxide and store carbon over time. Annually, the 100 trees are expected to absorb around two tons of carbon dioxide, produce 12 tons of oxygen, and provide enough oxygen for two people per tree. Beyond its environmental impact, the initiative also supports women’s empowerment and helps improve living conditions for local families.
Edgo’s annual tree planting initiative continues to serve as a platform for connection, bringing together employees, families, and partners around a shared commitment to environmental and community development, reinforcing Edgo’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
