Camco and Waha Oil Company Launch Strategic Project to Enhance Production from Shut-in Wells

Tripoli, Libya – April 2025 – Camco announces the launch of a significant production enhancement project in partnership with Waha Oil Company (WOC) in collaboration with our technology partner Baker Hughes (BH), aimed at unlocking the potential of long-term shut-in wells across WOC’s operations.

The project, titled “Shut-in Wells Production Enhancement Solutions,” is designed to restore output from inactive wells by applying a phased, data-driven approach combining advanced subsurface analysis and field-tested technologies. Camco geoscience team, along with BH Reservoir Technical Services (RTS) team, will lead the technical service component, providing global expertise, modelling capabilities, and proven methodologies used in similar projects worldwide utilizing new technologies.

WOC brings essential data and in-depth field knowledge through its Reservoir Engineering and Production Department, with direct engagement from the department’s manager and leadership team. This collaborative structure ensures alignment across all stakeholders and maximizes the project’s potential to deliver measurable and sustainable outcomes.

In addition to production goals, the project is designed to support local capacity development. A dedicated training program will provide WOC engineers with practical exposure to tools and workflows, contributing to national workforce development and reinforcing long-term operational sustainability.

This project builds on Camco’s partnership with WOC and a shared commitment to advancing innovation, improving operational performance, and supporting the long-term development of Libya’s energy infrastructure.
