Amman, Jordan – July 2025 – Edgo continues its support for the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF), supporting creative expression and emerging voices across the Arab world. The 2025 edition unfolds July 2-10 under “A World Unscripted,” exploring the unpredictable nature of both cinema and life.
AIFF is led by Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, alongside the festival’s board members, including Edgo CEO Omar M. Masri, a founding board member. Together with other community and industry leaders, they contribute to shaping its vision and growth. The festival has established itself as the leading platform for emerging filmmakers and bold narratives. Edgo provides an operational backbone through the Edgo Atrium, where AIFF’s team operates from a fully equipped workspace designed for focus and creativity. This environment enables the complex coordination required for an international festival, supporting daily operations and strategic planning.
AIFF 2025 presents more than 60 films from 23 countries, featuring 23 regional premieres and 16 world premieres that showcase fresh perspectives across borders and disciplines. The festival honors several powerful exclusive stories from Gaza, bringing urgent voices to international audiences. Screenings take place across three main Amman venues: TAJ Cinemas, the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC), and The Rainbow Theater. First-time outdoor screenings at Abdali Boulevard broaden public access and community engagement.
Beyond venues, the program is driven by four competitive categories: Arab Feature-Length Narrative Films, Arab Feature Documentaries, Arab Short Films, and Non-Arab Films, with professional juries awarding both Black Iris and Special Mention recognition. The festival integrates sign language interpretation in select films, making them accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, while most films feature both English and Arabic subtitles to reach a broader audience.
