Koosum Kalyan has been appointed a director of Aker Solutions, one of the world’s largest providers of services, products and systems for the oil and gas industry.

Currently the non-executive chairman of Edgo Merap and a director at Edgo’s Sri Lankan entity Hayleys Energy Services, Ms Kalyan’s previous roles include senior business development manager of African Exploration Oil and Gas at Shell International Exploration and senior economist at the Chamber of Mines of South Africa.

Ms Kalyan currently serves on the boards of Mobile Telephone Networks Holding (MTN Group Ltd), Standard Bank Group, South African Bank Note Company, Petmin Mining Ltd, and AOS Orwell. Ms Kalyan has also lectured on the Africa Program at Harvard Business School and Wharton Business School.
