Chairman of EdgoMerap
Koosum served as a senior business development manager of African Exploration Oil and Gas at Shell International Exploration from 2000 to 2008. Prior to joining Shell, Koosum was the senior economist at the Chamber of Mines of South Africa and an economist at the Electricity Commission of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia. Koosum graduated in Bcom Law and Honours in Economics at the University of Durban (South Africa) and completed the senior executive management program at the London Business School and the leadership management program at the Shell Leadership Training Center.
Koosum serves as chairman of EdgoMerap (Pty) Ltd and is a director of Aker Solutions. She also sits on the following boards as a non-executive director: Mobile Telephone Networks Holding (MTN Group Ltd), Standard Bank Group, South African Bank Note Company, Petmin Mining Ltd, AOS Orwell in Nigeria and on Edgo’s Sri Lankan affiliate, Hayleys Energy Services.
Koosum has also lectured on the Africa Program at Harvard Business School and Wharton Business School and is a board member of the Tällberg Foundation in Sweden.
