Project development
Edgo’s project development activities span conception, inception and completion and have evolved in line with economic progress across the Middle East and North Africa.
In the 1960s we pioneered project development in the region with a ground-breaking venture in Abu Dhabi. Together with the University of Arizona, we helped turn thousands of arid acres into fertile and productive land by financing, drilling and operating water-well installations. The UK consultant on the project was the former Sir M MacDonald & Partners, now known as the Mott Macdonald Group.
Today our project development activities are wide-ranging and comprehensive, based on detailed knowledge of the challenges and hard-won expertise. Our core competencies include construction and turnkey project management of road, rail, air and sea-port infrastructure development and water and waste-water conservation projects. We provide a platform on which engineers, contractors and suppliers can build a business strategy from a project’s inception through to its completion.
In March 2007 Edgo was part of the ADP consortium awarded a contract to expand the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Amman, Jordan. This is a 25-year build-operate-transfer project and will draw on our many years of infrastructure experience. The ADP Consortium is composed of Edgo Ventures (Edgo), Aeroports de Paris Management (ADPM), Joannou & Paraskevaides (Overseas) Ltd., J&P-Avax, Abu Dhabi Investment Company (ADIC) and Noor Financial Investment Company With our partners we will be operating and upgrading existing airport facilities and constructing a new terminal designed by Foster + Partners, the internationally-renowned architects.
