Eni
Eni S.p.A. is an Italian multinational oil and gas company, with a presence
in 70 countries and 73,500 employees. Eni was founded in 1953 by the Italian
government to promote and develop a national energy strategy based on the
concentration of all activities in the energy sector in one group. As of
February, 2007, Eni was Italy's largest industrial company with a market
capitalization of 98 billion euros ($125 billion). Starting in 1995, two
thirds of its shareholding has been sold to the Italian public.
The
Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO)
GUPCO initially started as a joint venture between Egyptian General Petroleum
Corporation (EGPC) & Amoco in 1965. Since then it has become the largest
oil producer in Egypt. GUPCO is the operating company of the joint venture
responsible for oil and gas production in the Gulf of Suez, the Western
Desert and the Nile Delta.
GUPCO’s output production is approximately 115,000 bpd. In the year 2000 BP acquired the majority of the Amoco shares in the GUPCO JV. The subsequent changes in geographical exploration areas have led to major gas discoveries in new fields.
GUPCO’s gas operation covers two fields with a production capacity of 80 million cubic feet of gas daily and 5,200 barrels of condensates. GUPCO also owns a field in the Gulf of Suez with a production capacity of between 20 and 25,000 bpd with an expected reserve of 30 million barrels of oil.
Khalda
Petroleum Company (KPC)
KPC has operated in Egypt since 1983 and is a 50/50 joint venture with the
Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Apache. KPC is the operating
company for the joint enture whose main activities are exploration and development
of oil & gas fields and the production of oil, gas and condensates in
the Western Desert.
Total production capacity is around 90,000 bpd of oil and all of its production comes from its Khalda & Salam oilfields in the Western Desert.
NIOC
The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) is an oil and gas
producer and distributor headquartered in Tehran. It was established in
1948. NIOC's oil and gas in place reserves are estimated at 137 billion
barrels (10% of world's total) and 41.14 trillion cubic meters (15% of world's
total). Current NIOC production capacities include over 4 million barrels
of crude oil and in excess of 300 million cubic meters of natural gas per
day.
NOC
Libya
Libya ’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) was set up in 1970 to assume the
responsibility for the country’s oil sector operations. It also helps realise
objectives in Libya’s national development, supporting the economy by increasing,
developing and exploiting oil reserves and investing in these reserves.
NOC carries out exploration and production operations through its own affiliated
companies and with other companies such as Edgo under service contracts.
Petrobel
In 1978 Petrobel was established as one of the Egyptian General Petroleum
Corporation companies jointly owned by Agip/ENI. Petrobel is the operating
company for the joint venture whose main activities are exploration and
development of oil & gas fields and the production of oil, gas and condensates.
Petrobel produces 180,000 bpd of oil and condensates, 1,150 million cubic feet/day of gases and 650 ton/day of LPG.
PDO
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is the national oil exploration and production
company of Oman. It accounts for more than 90% of the country's crude-oil
production and nearly all its natural-gas output. It is owned by the Government
of Oman (60% interest), Royal Dutch Shell (34% interest), Total (4% interest)
and Partex (2% interest).
